New to forum. Rescued 1996 SPI from certain doom. Replaced starter, little black brain, solenoid, battery. It starts and runs well. Zooming along, just quits. Restarts and sometimes responds to throttle, other times nothing but idle for a minute then won't restart. Rewired all sides in the ski running to the black brain. Any ideas?

Make sure it is not seizing....if it is running lean it can seize......just dies but will restart ......can only do this a few times and then boom....... Make sure your plugs look okay and your oil system is pumping correctly and set properly if still on the pump. If it dies when you are heavy on the throttle for a little way then heed this info....or you may be rebuilding your motor.....seizing is from improper card adjustment - too lean or not enough oil getting into cylinders,,,make sure you check that oil system.

Ok, thanks for all the input, but I chased the problem to the carbs. Ordered genuine rebuild kits. While waiting I found both needle valves either bottomed out or frozen in place. Not really sure how it ran in that condition. Anyway, is there a baseline for adjustment on the needle valves? One seemed to be one full turn out. Anyone have the carbs with a two nut base and a three hole upper plate?

2000 GSX RFI fuel pump comes on for 5 seconds when Des key in inserted then shut off, any advice of where to start? Ski has 91 hrs on it I just purchased it.

Low is 1,1/4...hi closed...make sure you thoroughly clean out the low speed by-pass holes,,they may be plugged,,,and it will not run therefore,
