Hi everyone! I am talking to someone about purchasing thier 1995 Seadoo Speedster. I am wondering if these units can be fished out of at all? I know it looks rediculously fun (which is why I am looking at it) but I wanted a cool little multi use boat. It is in pretty nice shape and has had the pumps rebuilt, new impellers, new wear rings, all the cables were serviced a couple of weeks ago, and it comes with a bunch of goodies. I will be going to take a look at this thing in a couple of days and wondering if there is anything I should keep my eyes open to with it?

Check the compression. 135 and it will need a new top end. 150 is a new engine! Ask him what type of oil he used in it and make sure that it is API-tc. Im sure you could fish out of it without a problem. You can fish out of anything. lol. Make sure you take it out for a good long ride to make sure it runs good on the water. Just because it will run on the trailer means nothing. Good luck and post pictures.

Ok Guys, I need some educated help here. I purchased at a rediculous price a 95 speedster. Compression is on the low side at 130 on both engines.
I figure it may come up a bit when warm but there is always winter maintenance.
A top end entails just what? I am not afraid to get into it and have lots of machine experience.
Cylinders, rings, pistons?
I am also trying to figure out the throttle cable adjustments. The cables don't move at the carbs unltil the levers are vertical. And when I remove the throttle quadrant from the hull the cables just don't seem to be aligned with the direction that they should travel.
There is no detail in the midwest manual I downloaded. Is there a better more detailed shop manual out there? Something that is going to give a step by step instruction.
Thanks in advance.
Capt. Billy
