Newbie here trying to winterize for first time.

2009 Sea Doo GTX 255 Limited IS

Done the flushing and the fogging, and I did get the battery out but it was very difficult so i figure I must be doing something wrong.

I removed the 2 1/2" bolts holding the case down....then I couldn't separate the case.

I found 2 small bolts...one on each side....halfway down the case holding the 2 halves together.

Removed those 2, then still had a tough time separating the 2 halves of the case.

I eventually pried off the right side of fuses that was connected to the case, thenwas able to spit the case in half.

Even after that it took some manipulating to get the battery out.

Does that seem correct, or is there an easier way?

Also, at the bottom of the battery compartment I found 2 items...a clear plastic square, and a clip for a screw to go into.

Anybody have any idea what they are for?

Pictures attached

Thanks!
