I called my local dealer and they can program a key. I have been using the key from the RX to try and start the GTX (before the starter went out) and it would spin, and the plugs were firing, the keys are not supposed to be interchangeable from ski to ski like that are they?

I received a carburetor rebuild kit for my RX from OSD and rebuilt the carbs Saturday. I ran the ski today and it ran much better. Turning 7k rpms on the top end. The only issues I had today was the ski would choke off when went from idle to full throttle. I had to give it half throttle to get going, from there it would run out fine. My fuel gauge didn't work today, i have 3/4 of a tank, and the ski showed low fuel, and didn't show the fuel level. I am going to look for a loose connection at the fuel tank. Any suggestions on what adjustment to make to repair the choking off when going from idle to full throttle? Thanks

Sounds like you have two separate problems.
1. Your accelerator pump isn't working and squirting fuel causing the big hesitation off idle.

2. Your fuel sending unit has a bad float or f1 fuse or both.

Thanks, i will check the f1 fuse to see if that is it. i know the accelerator pump shoots fuel in the carb and I had hoped the rebuild kit had this handled. What do i need to do to correct the accelerator pump issue?

I checked the fuse and it was not blown so probably the sending unit in the tank. I am checking the fuel level with a flashlight for the time being. I removed the carb and the linkage that drives the accelerator pump was out of adjustment, and the line the feeds fuel to the accelerator pump had a pretty severe bend in it that could restrict fuel into the pump. I adjusted the linkage, and replaced the lines into and away from the accelerator pump. While putting the engine back together i blew up the exhaust clamp trying to get one more use out of the fiber lock nut. So I bought a used clamp on ebay. It came in today and i went to the river and man the RX ran great. I am really pleased with how it ran out. My next project it going thru the jetpump (I already have the rebuild parts) and I noticed that the throttle linkage that goes to the front of the engine (I assume to the oil pump) is frayed and needs replacing. Thanks again for all the help with this project.
