Backfire noise when starting

My 05 GTX runs great once started and warmed up for a minute, but I noticed when I start it cold it takes a couple of times to get started and once if first starts(not everytime) it makes a backfire sound. Once started the rpm jump around for a minute then is fine after that. Can anybody give me an idea if this is a big concern or not? I'm taking it on vacation next week and don't have time or money right now to get it looked at, but want to make sure it will be fine for the trip. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Symtom described is air leak in intake manifold.

So what would it involve to get that fixed? Will it be fine ride on for the next couple of weeks?
