Ok.. Well picked the boat up and took her out today with all the upgrades..Well there arent many upgrades but why not share lol.. Anywy.. Here is a list of what the boat has...

  • Jensen MSR3007 Headunit (OEM Radio)
  • Jensen MWR100 Wired Remote
  • Jensen Sirius Sat Radio
  • Jensen IPOD Direct Cable
  • Alpine PDX-5M Amplifier
  • Polk Audio MM651UM Speakers - 2 Pairs
  • Kicker 10inch Sub w/ Enclosure
  • All marine grade wiring
  • AFI Electronic Horn
  • Factory / OEM Horn Switch (Only downfall is that I could only find red)

All in all I couldnt be more happy with the system.. The only downfall is that when underway at high speeds you dont feel the bass as much but i figured you wouldnt get much especially since i have it tucked away in the rear storage compartment.. But once you slow down the sub hits hard.. I mean I stopped for a minute and had the radio going and the boat was shaking and you felt it.. The system rocks.. I was stopped pretty far from the dock while others were loading up to go out and i had the radio going and people on the shore were dancing and rocking out and we were a good distance away so you know this thing is loud lol... Cant wait to get the second battery installed so I can shut the motor off and just rock the tunes while swimming.. Just have to decide on the brand of battery.. I know the one in there is huge but better safe then sorry.. plus the guy wired it all up for me so i just have to get the battery and hook up the cables adn good to go.. no running wires... Anyway.. I am sure you are more interested in seeing pics so here they are..

P.S. Just wanna say thanks to all those who gave input when I asked all my questions and flooded the forum with posts... But it was all worth it.. Now just have to see what other upgrades I can do lol.. Thought about lighting but i dont plan on going out much at night.. I did think of doing a cupholder up where i put the remote, not that, that is much of an upgrade lol.. Maybe Ill just have fun with this for now.. But if anyone has ideas lets hear em...

Looks awesome!!! Glad it turned out the way you wanted. You got a good deal on the install too. If you are anything like me, you will be adding more stuff. just when I think I am done I find something else I want.

lol thanks.. yea i think the system turned out way better then i expected. and like you said for the price of the install how could you go wrong.. only 200 for everything.. good thing is that i saw the boat when they had it all apart and the boat looks extremely easy to work on if i ever did decide to do anythign myself.. im thinking that maybe, and i mean maybe, depending on the price i might add some cheap led's to the interior.. just for the sake of having.. but like i said i really dont plan on taking out at night very often if at all... been looking around for any other mods but not much i really think i would like.. not a big fan of bimini tops or towers or anything like that... i dont think there is much more that i can really do lol...

That seems pretty awesome...very nice project.

For a secondary battery, just make sure you get a battery isolator. This will allow it to charge off of your charging system but it won't discharge the main battery.

I love optima yellow tops for audio systems, but any deep cycle battery with a decent amp hours should do the trick.

Great job! How did you wire the passenger side extra speaker? I do not seem to understand how I can run the passenger side extra speaker wiring, even after I cout out an appropriate hole. I do not see the easy access from the engine compartment. Any advise would be appreciated.

The Polk mm651 UM look (and I am sure sound) great. How did you attach/screw them in the original Jensen locations/holes? It looks on you picture that you have some kind of plates to accommodate the smaller mounting diameter of the Polks in the place of a bit larger diameter Jensens (or any other original factory speakers).

All looks good. Did you run the ground to the amp back to the battery, or is there another place where you can grind the amp?
