Are the 720s = to the 717s?

I'm looking at getting a deal on a '97 speedster with one blown motor. It has the dual 720 engines, what I'm wondering is, are the 717 engines on sbt the same motor? Or is there no way to get the 720 engine now?

they are the same motor. i've heard people call a 717 a: 700,720,750, and 800. but when it comes down to it the motor is a seadoo type 717.

787 = 800
947 = 951

People reference them by either number.

Also, there are mods to these engines that will increase the CCs, like adding a larger top end. You may see people refer to them as a differnet number then. Usually, they are just idiots that don't know the stock numbers
