I have a 2022 GTI SE 170 with exactly the same problem. Lists to port at rest. It doesn't affect performance although the machine tracks slightly to port with the steering dead centre. Dealer will look at it when it comes out of the water for storage in a week or so but they have seen the problem and don't have a known solution. Someone on Redditt said that the GTI hull is designed for the supercharged engine and the engine is centred with this in mind. The SE 170 isn't supercharged and, without the supercharger weight, there is an imbalance to port. I have no idea if this is correct or not but, if it is, it may apply to your SeaDoo model as well. I'll let you know what comes of this. Perhaps a counterweight in place of the bailing bucket in the front storage bin would resolve it but I would rather not add weight to the boat.

I have a 2021 GTI SE 170, and have not noticed any leaning to one side and steering favoring one side over the other. But I know there have been a few posts over the past year or two of different skis leaning to one side - enough posts to make me think there is something to this phenomenon... as crazy as it sounds. I don’t know that anyone has posted what their final outcome was or repairs that were successful.

Thanks for your input. I have heard theories (from maintenance techs) about exhaust weight and weight of the water in the exhaust to battery location causing the list. Sounds reasonable until you consider the other 99.9% skis are level...and you're the only guy the neighbors ask if your new PWC just survived a U-boat attack. From what I've heard and gathered from the web, I think this has been happening for many years to nearly every make/model due to manufacturing defects (like the motor mount jig got misaligned). Hopefully SeaDoo admits this and you and I can get what we paid for. For anyone else, dealers are required to water test every PWC they sell, so I advise you to either get it in writing that it sits perfectly level, or better, insist that they put it in CALM water for you prior to purchase. Additionally, you can test out the motor, steering, jet alignment and how SKI mode works on your PWC...mine hiccups at first on every launch.

Thanks. I agree.

I just had my dealer pick up my SeaDoo for winter storage and I emphasized the importance of resolving the problem before returning the boat in the Spring and that I consider the problem to be a manufacturing defect. How they deal with this remains to be seen. As for the amount of weight required, when I went to the boat ramp yesterday I had to bail water out of the footwells as it had been raining and both sides had a lot of water in them so I bailed out the port side first. With the port footwell empty and the starboard side still full the boat sat level in the water. I'm just guessing but this would have to be somewhere between 30 and 50 pounds of water. Quite a bit of weight and it really is a mystery what's going on here.

I have a brand new GTI SE 170hp 2022 and I feel it leaning a little left in low speeds (4-6kph). I will take a look regarding how it is without turning on the engine and just sitting on the water by the time it leaves the toll ramp. But definetly I feel it leaning left a little.

That's exactly how mine is.
What the guy from the boat house said is that all 170-155HP engines skis tilts a little too the left. The 300hp don't due to the turbo-charger that counter balance the weight to the right. All the skis there are like this. They have around 15 that tilts. Also the mechanic from the dealer said that is due to the water-box at the exhausting. Something funny is that to turn the ski if you tip it over is that on the stickers shows you to do that using the left as the axis - probably considering that the left side IS heavier than the right one.

Funny people don't see that and feel that. I opened a ticket with the Sea-Doo.

Anyone had any further responses from Seadoo (or their dealer) on this issue? Have a Seadoo Wake 170 with a similar problem. Noticeably heavy on the port side, in certain cases to the point of feeling pretty uncomfortable especially out in a bit of swell. Particularly an issue when towing someone behind the ski on the port side.

Initially I thought it was small amounts of water which was pooling in the hull and accumulating after spraying down the engine. I thought this may be the case as after each time I spray down the engine unless I tip my trailer right up to allow the water to drain from the bilge valves there always seems to be a bit of water accumulating which doesn't properly drain (maybe +/- a gallon or so?). Have to hold it up for close to a minute for most of this to drain (albeit by the end of the minute it's close to a drip). This is just a hunch and I'm really not sure if it's the problem (or me to just being in my head about it) but something I've noticed regardless.
