Antifreeze leak and engine overheat

After riding this weekend, I got an engine overheat warning. Brought the bike to the dock and noticed that the antifreeze overflow was empty and there was traces of antifreeze shown in the pictures, along with good amount on the throttle (did not get a pic of this. Any idea where to look for a leak? The antifreeze in the clamped holders for the overflow bottle really threw me, not sure how it got there and where I should star looking for the leak? The hoses seemed clean.

I’ve read here that the bottles themselves are prone to leaking so that might explain the antifreeze in the clamp holders.

Seem like an odd place to leak, could it be spraying from somewhere else like the cap? There was no antifreeze on the underside of the seat.

Looks like it’s coming from the bottle or the cap. Might pressure test the system to find the leak. Also pressure test the cap.
If it is the cap then it would deflect the spray downward.

I think you are right, I did not have the cap cranked the extra 1/4 turn. Refilled today and closed the cap correctly, the issue is that I was down quite a bit of coolant. So I will monitor it. I also notice that when I idle, I get white smoke. Is that normal?
