As stated in an earlier thread, one of the clamps was missing off of the pto boot, so I got a heavy duty tie wrap and put it around the boot. Well, as I was putting grease back in it I noticed grease coming out of a pin hole in the rubber boot (see attached). I guess the boot got damaged when the clamp came off. Anyway, my question is this, should I replace the boot completely or try to patch it with some kind of rubber cement. And what all has to be done to remove the PTO shaft? We were planning to take the boat out this weekend.

use the boat.
Remember, you don't want to fill the whole boot with grease. Manual says to pump until the boot just moves.
I've replaced mine with zip ties, and things are good.
