Another oil light question

Evening all,

Okay, back to my 98 GS. The good news is that I did a 10 minute test run in the yard today. I had a hose hooked up and when the engine started so did cooling water. In that time it smoked but not badly and never got hot. I could touch the head and it was a little warm but MUCH cooler than the short runs without cooling water. Anyway I'm happy with it. The oil light had been coming on and I added a quart of synthetic oil that meets spec for this ski. The test was run after the oil had been added. When I started it though, the oil light was still on. I visually checked the tank and it appears to be about 1/4 or a little more full. The tank has not been removed so far as I know. It appears to be getting oil properly, no overheating, no oil leaks and no unhappy noises. How much oil should be in the tank to shut the light off? I'll be picking up a gallon of factory recommended oil from the Bombardier place next week. Am I just having an electrical issue with a Ski this age? Still have to service the trailer, wheel bearings and lights, and next weekend it is off to Lake Martin!!

This is the oil sensor from my '97 Challenger. When the oil is not covering the top of the white cylinder, the low oil light will go on. The tank will still have almost 1 1/2" showing. Depending on the size of your tank, that may be showing about 1/4..
