Hey guys,

I've been reading up and searching this forum for weeks now! It is great!

I need a little advice if you don't mind.

A guy I know is selling a 1996 Sea Doo Speedster with a trailer. The boat's hull and trailer are in immaculate shape. There is a forward cushion but no rear seats (owner took them out and lost them in storage...who knows) One of the motors is blown but complete and the other is in good shape. He has the titles for both the trailer and the boat. He wants $1000 for it, what do you guys think? I am mechanically inclined and familiar with the jet system, two strokes, etc.

Is $1,000 worth it?

Thanks in advance!

Chris:cheers:

You or him?

$1000 is a good deal......Take the grand he gives you and start working on the boat

Just kidding....I have no idea what it will cost to get the boat whole again.

With one good motor I would say go for it, try to talk him down a little if you can.

Just a guideline for me,
non running boat... $0 - $1000
Running with problems... $1000 - $2500
Mechanically sound cosmetic problems... $2500 - up depending on condition.

you doing the work?

If your doing the work, like R&R motor, then this does not sound to bad. If you will not be working on the boat, but taking it to shop/dealer, then you may run up a little tab.

Have you looked for seats yet? I was looking for seats last year for my 96 challenger and found nothing, other then some pretty tour up goods. Mine were in great condition except for the covering so i just took them out and had them recovered. look great now.

thats a great deal!!!

I gave 1800 for a non running 96 Speedster with bad seats and bad Pumps.
And i just noticed the keel is rough also. Jump on it!
