Hello everyone, this is an amazing forum, I have been reading so much over the last few months and then decided to ask...
I have a 2001 GTX DI, 128 hours (20 on new engine). I purchased it last month and I am having issues - surprise!
It will rev once over 6000RPM and then miss, at full throttle it will miss, fall back in limp mode at 4700RPM and stay there happily. if you let it rest at idle, it will again rev higher and then backup. The red light and Maint will flash when it backs up to limp mode. As long as you go back to idle and keep the throttle at 1/3 to 1/2 it will happily go 5000-5200RPM, more throttle causes the above issue.
Now here's the rundown:
130PSI compression on both cylinders
Fuel pressure - check (but I still put in new pump and filters)
Air pressure - check
Fuel injectors - cleaned and tested
Air injectors - cleaned and tested
Voltage - 13.6V max - new rectifier anyway
New knock sensor
New coils
New wires
Checked and fixed ground in the electrical box (behind the coils)
New spark plugs
Runs 93 octane gas - emptied tank and cleaned
Runs XPS2 - emptied tank and cleaned
Cleaned Rave valves, they were soaked in black sticky oil - verified that they work fine and so does the air pressure control solenoid
Tested water control valve on exhaust, works as expected
New battery - AGM
Tested all sensors per service manual at the AMP connector, all OK
All fuses OK but replaced and applied dielectric
Any other suggestion? Waiting for dealer to hook up BUDS in two weeks but getting impatient
