airbox plug

I am doing some work on my 96 gsx and 96 gtx and just realized the plug is not installed on the airbox top cover. Is this something I need to get installed or will it not make that much of a difference being off. I have had the skis for years and don't believe they were ever installed?

You should be just fine without them.

I placed a piece of black Gorilla tape over mine.
