Air bubbles in oil lines keep appearing

Hello all,
Having an issue with air that keeps re appearing in small oil lines to cylinders on my GSX 800.
I've replaced the small oil lines. and they are connected well everywhere with Oetiker clamps
Primed the entire oil injection system with oil pump off engine and drill hooked up
Installed oil pump and bled system with bleed screw completely out engine running, oil pump held at full throttle
re installed bleed screw
ran engine again with oil pump at full throttle and small lines filled up.
Now when I give engine revs with throttle at handle bars air bubbles re appear in small lines?

I can't see any leaks where air could be sucked in. Just not sure what would be considered normal. My oil filter is full and large oil feed lines are full. Hesitant to take ski out in this condition.
Any thoughts?

That's quite a bit of air in the lines.
Let the ski idle and then hold the oil pump wide open, you should see it pump all the air out.

If you are nervous you can premix the first tank of fuel at 50:1.

Would that cause any running/engine issues with both oil injection pumping oil and oil mixed with gas?

If it would be OK then a good water test would give the ski a chance to do its job and let the air work itself out of the system.

Took it out for a good run after your suggestion. Ran very well and after checked small oil lines. Air bubbles gone and lines are full

Your problem was that you took the bleed screw completely out and with the engine running that allowed air to be sucked into the pump. No need to have the engine running to bleed the oil feed to the pump.

Interesting my mechanic swore by taking bleed screw completely out

Not with the engine running. The pump draws suction from that line so when the screw was out or even if the bleed screw was open it would have drawn in air.

So you just back out the screw no engine running and that bleeds the air? Wouldn’t the pump need to be running to move the air much like pumping the brake pedal to bleed the brakes in a car?

You are relying on gravity to bleed the system. The bleed screw is just a low point opening that will let the oil flow out to bleed any air from the line. If the pump is turning it's gonna draw suction from the open line.

Your reference to pumping the brakes on a car is pretty accurate regarding the running of the pump. If you don't close the bleeder and you pump the brake pedal... it draws in air and you defeat your purpose. Same sing with the oil system.

Nice catch Etemplate, you are correct. Never remove the bleed screw with the engine running.
