Hi All,
This my first post on Seadoo Forum.
I found a 2009 GTI SE 155 for sale that the owner said was flipped over, but not turned up right away, so water got in the engine compartment.
He states when key plugs the lanyard in it beeps twice but will not turn over. He's selling as is.
My is, can it be fixed at a reasonable cost or should I walk away? I'm located in Ontario, Canada and the gentleman is asking $4k including trailer.

Thank you.

Exactly how long was the ski upside down?....an hr?....a week?

In any case...I'd be looking at water ingestion as a possibility.

Pull the spark plugs and do a compression test. Then try to start it. Otherwise, price out a short block engine replacement and subtract from running used price. $2,500, about.

I don't know how long it was upside down, but long enough to get water in the engine compartment.
What I'm trying to find out is what would be the worst case scenario, needs new engine, electronics, etc?
If you're getting two beeps when you plug in the key, does that mean the electronics are ok?

I will arrange to go see it and take a look. If all it requires is a new engine, it may still be a good deal for my area.

Check the starter solenoid. If no power at the output terminal when you push the start button, you probably have a $30 problem. Bring a replacement with you along with a 10mm socket and ratchet.

I went to take a look at the ski and was thoroughly disappointed. Before even looking at the engine, I looked over the hull and I could swear I've seen cars in a smash up derby in better shape.
There were scratches everywhere, dings, gouges and I also noticed some waves in the fiberglass, upon closer inspection, I could tell there was bodywork done to it.
The only conclusion I came to, is that it was part of a rental program. Saved myself 4 grand and a lot of heartache.
Thank you all for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

The search continues.........
