Ok guys need a little help, this is what I have going on. I got this 97 seadoo spx and im doing some mods to it. This is what I have so far.

*head reworked by group k have to run high pump gas.
*R & D trim tabs
*R & D nozzle
*R & D ride plate extender
* After market sponsons
*Top loader gate
*R & D air filter
*Hard jetted the factory pipe

Now i know that i could get a different pipe and i will when i find one for the right $$ , but my question is would I gain any thing by having group k bore my carbs?

What are stock carbs Bore? if you were to bore them what would you take them to? and why would you do it? any other mods you can think of i would love to hear about them? Im very new to this part and a lot of the mods i have so far have came from reading after you guys and asking some questions a long the way.

Thanks again guys
Scott

You don't want to run the ride plate extender, just the two tabs.

Yes the bored out carbs do feel a little better then stock. Stock carbs are "40mm" but they bore them to a true 40mm. I think it is a nice little gain but an aftermarket pipe would be the one part that would make the largest difference.

"Factory Pipe" is the brand name for the industry standard in aftermarket pipes. I know that can be confusing so we refer to the original pipe as stock or OEM. They were made by Westcoast for Seadoo.

Your right matt sorry about that, i know better than to call it the factory pipe. Why would you not run the ride plate extender? im thinking i might have the carbs done since i have an extra set that i can send out....

It handles horribly with the middle piece in and rubs a little speed off as well. With the extender it wags back and forth as you come off plane and it does not feel as good in turns. Just the two outer wings is the way to go.

thanks matt ill run with out it. also how does the extender feel on one that doesn't have the trim tabs?

I ended up only running the ride plate extender and no trim tabs I had to do some deking on it to get it machined to the angle up I wanted but works awesome but on a 95 with pump ext helps guard the steering stuff to. dose feel a little loose but I like the feel you can feel the sponsons better but all still just opinion. if I was you I would leave all of them on and get a pump ext a shaft and a steering cable

interesting, now pump ext, are we talking about a pump wedge?

It has the micro touch rev limiter and kip valve I don't like the paint job or I would make him an offer

I'll say $200 max. I have $175 of labor to strip that good awful flat red of the lower pipe.

I was thinking the same, he had $30 to ship it so I offered him 230 at 1st and he told me to get lost lol...i would pay 230 right now for one

wow I checked the add 399.99 + 199.99 shipping if I wanted it what a jack and red under the hood of a seadoo factory purple would look much better on it

its only 29.99 to ship it lol but still i know what you mean, I do have a blaster and have the set up to do power coat but still

ok guys got another question for you guys, have you guys every turned the pto down and the flywheel down to get the engine to wrap faster? I have a mill and a lathe so it would just be my time in it. what are you thoughts.

thanks
scott

Can't turn the flywheel down. I don't know if it is even recommended to lighten the flywheel. I would definitely be running a black flywheel though if you are modifying things
