I am trying to rebuild my accelerator pump due to having to feather the throttle to get wot and not bog down. The issue is when I took it apart it just fell into my hand. The internals had two springs one large and one small with a little plastic piece in it. My question is how it goes back together does the smaller spring go in the middle of the larger one? Just seems strange also it has the round diaphragm.

Doesn't the bigger one go on the inside of the pump and the smaller stiffer one goes on the outside for the arm?

Edit:
outer one:

Maybe! I'll look when I'm back home, like I said took the screws out fell apart in my hand that would be nice if that's it!

Spray the crap out of all the holes in the pump. There is an internal check valve...make sure they are all clean. Then make sure your brass tubes are extra clean. They spray the fuel, not dribble.

Matt had a suggestion to put a piece of small diameter hose over the brass fittings in the carb to reverse blow out the brass sprayers...great tip

Don't get carb cleaner on the rubber diaphragm.
Make sure you can get cleaner to spray from inside one of the cover holes and have it spray out the brass outlet fitting. This way you will know the check ball is clear. I have had ones that the check ball can't be freed and had to get a replacement cover.

Update: I believe I found where the spring goes can anyone tell me if this looks right? Its the spring on the left.

Still not sure where the smaller spring goes heres a better pic

Also inside one of the little hoses there is a what looks like white plastic ball in it with a hole in the middle... I assume this is supposed to be there

You have the small spring and plastic washer correct in the top picture of your last post.
The larger spring of finer wire goes inside the pump in the recess on the housing and the other end pushes on the metal part of the rubber diaphragm.

mikidymac,

I am also rebuilding my carbs and looking for pictures detailing the accelerator pump. I cannot see the the pictures posted on the thread....I have white plastic washer and wide and short spring that I think "sits" as detailed in the picture, but the spring doesn't fit well and can potentially slide out. Assistance appreciated.
