I changed the plugs (i know plugs shouldnt have anything to do with this) because they were fouled, i start the ski up, and its nearly redlining, it starts off at about 5k and starts climbing by itself, when i press the throttle, itll just rev higher but still stay at a really high rev, any ideas??

I'm assuming this is out of the water.

Try popping the choke, and see if it comes down. Some times 2-strokes will rev up if they are running lean. I would check around for an air leak.

What do you mean popping the choke? Buts literally when i put the new plugs which is drenched with oil since my ski is premix, maybe i have too much gas and not enough oil but those old plugs were filled with oil and were fouled and i was getting serious bogging

I believe he's saying to pull the choke and see if it brings the rpms down.

Yep.

Oil has nothing to do with how the engine runs. If the throttle wasn't stuck, and the ski was out of the water... that was a "lean run-away." easy as that. It was a coincidence that it happened after you changed the plugs.

Ok, Ive been running it on the trailer (with the water hooked up) and its idling at about 3-4k and it just sits there and it will idle normal as soon as I pull the choke, it will idle normal for about 1/2min and it will slowly go to 3k rpm again and just sit there. So yes, the choke on makes it idle normal and once I release the choke, it will still idle normal but slowly go up and stay at around 3k. Whats the next step?

Isnt 3000 rpms the norm for idle when not in the water and no load?

Yes. Out of the water... spec is 3000 RPM.

Also... DO NOT run the ski for extended periods of time, out of the water. You will destroy the carbon seal.

The next step is to put it in the water, and see how it runs. You can't do any tuning/adjustments out of the water. (A garden hose does not put a load on the engine)

ok, 3 more questions:

1. When you say adjustments, do you mean, carbs?
2. Also, at about 6k rpm when I rev it, its a bogging sound, and I believe its running rich, the plugs are wet and smell like oil since I have the premix conversion and I did the pre-mix right but I believe there was oil on the bottom of the tank leftover, do you think I can put a little gas and see what happens
3. What does a "LOAD" consist of when you say its not under a load in the water

1) YES

2a) If there is a carb issue, remove them, clean them, and set them to factory specs.
2b) NO... if you go pre-mix, do not try to "Adjust" the mix in the tank. That will lead to a dead engine. If you think it's wrong, drain the fuel, clean the tank, and mix fresh fuel.

3) There is no load OUT of the water. I have said this before, so this will be the last time. You can't check, tune, or adjust Anything fuel related on a jetski, while it's out of the water.

Also... the plugs are going to get dark out of the water. Since there is NO LOAD on the engine... it can't burn the fuel.

The Run-away issue may not be an issue. But you don't know until you put it in the water.
