99 Sportster 1800 exhasut?

The Exhaust setup in my 99 Sportster 1800 looks nothing like the one in the parts diagram, which is correct, and what do I have?

If you look closely you can see my muffler has the oulet on the end (yuou can just see the hose clamp on the black rubber hose), not on the back side like the diagram has.

What are you talking about? Other than the outlet... it's the same set-up. AND... I bet if you look at your Port side engine... it will be the same as the diagram. AND... if you look at the parts description... there's a left and right muffler listed.

I will try to get a better picture this afternoon, but on my boat part #41 is shorter and a straight hose, etc.

ok... post up a few more, and we can go from there.

BUT... before we get too deep into the parts diagrams... is there a problem with your exhaust where getting the right part is an issue??


Also... simply look at the last 2 numbers on your hull number. (it's the year) Maybe your boat isn't the year you think. I've seen where a boat was registered as the year sold... but in reality it was one model year earlier, or later.

I have the same boat, and the shop manual. your boat picture matches is the same exhaust I have (Although I bought used).

The diagram is slightly off , and there is a difference between port and starboard pieces. Pages 04-08-2 and 3 of the shop manual

Thanks, did not get pictures this afternoon we had some severve weather, I did doublecheck the HIN and it is a 99 for sure.
