pull the pump off, remove the cone, then set the "flat" spots of shaft, into a vise. You'll need an impellor removal tool to removethe impellor. Might as well throw in a new wear ring too.
I removed the cone and the wear ring was completely shot. The jet pump fluid must have leaked out. I can't get the Impeller housing assembly off until I remove the impeller shaft, right? I'll get an impeller puller and give it a try. thx.
check out the "flat' spots on the end of the shaft. Thats what the cone covered. Install that end in a vise, then with the impellor removal tool (purchase from SBT), turn counterclockwise, the impellor will spin off the shaft. Then get a jigsaw, and make a few relief cuts into the shot-out wear ring, pry it out, install the new one...
Does the impeller housing (large black plastic assembly) come off before I remove the impeller shaft? Do I just pull if off by wiggling it back and forth and pulling on it? or do I have to remove the impeller shaft and then pull off the impeller housing?
