This ski uses the 717cc engine. By comparison, it's the third largest engine in the 2 stroke family. The 787cc and 951cc are the other two.

I own the 97 GTX with the 787cc. I have a peak speed of 60 but have since changed to a Solas impeller for tubing. My speed now is about 50 to 55 on the dream-o-meter. I'm not sure what it would GPS out at.

If it's only got 15 hours on it, you'll want to check if for the grey tempo fuel lines. They'll have to be replaced ASAP. If they haven't already done it, they'll begin to turn soluable inside with the fuel, gumming up your fuel system.

I'd also do a compression test on it. No matter how many hours someone tells me they have on a motor, I always test it. This is like taking a pulse, checking to see if the heart beat is strong. If you don't have a compression gage, you can find one at your local auto parts house for about $25 bucks.

also - not sure of how detailed your discussions with him have been or if in person at all, but do a google search on 'military craigs list scams' to see how common they are. guy is shipping out so send money and his dad will deliver or meet you etc etc...
good luck and enjoy
