Hey guys, this is my first water craft and the engine is seized. The rear piston is all beat up, heads beat up, cylinder is scored, and lower rod bearing is welded to the crank. The engine has 430 hrs on it and does not appear to have ever been cracked open... not even for a top end. My question is, do they always melt down like this or should I be looking for "cause of failure"

So the bottom end welding together is somewhat normal at this point? I just dont want to rebuild it and have it do it again within the first the 3 hours of running it.

with it get'n a complete assy.. i'd check out the oil system, make sure its work'n/flow'n, and tear thru the carbs...

I would DELETE the oil pump and run premix fuel.. Probably would still be going... Grey fuel lines still in there?

Usually when the bearings weld them selves up it is do to extreme heat, with the lower end is most times do to a major lack of lubrication. At 430 hrs you did great, also if a bearing breaks down and goes metal to metal it will also weld itself up. Marine motors, esp pwc engines are like a dragster to best compare, its entire life is almost always full throttle, they take alot of abuse, so to get 430 hrs out of everything stock seems very good to me.

Deleteing the oil injection isnt really an option. The fuel injectors are on the oposite side of the engine from the rotory valve. If I take the oil injection away the rotory valve will not have lube. I was also running 80:1 in the fuel tank on top of the oil injection
