I have a 99 gsx limited and i replaced the mpem.. thats what i was told what was wrong with it at the dealer... so i replaced it i put it in the water it runs great for about 10 min until it warms up then it starts bogging out an goes to about 3500rpms an wont go past that whats going on with my ski? anyone know?

Thanks
Bryan

I had a similar problem, my ski maxed out at 3200 rpm's in the water. On land it ran great. Try cutting the spark plug wires back 1/4" by unscrewing the end you snap onto the plug, and cut the wire back to expose fresh wire. Screw the end back on when done. Also test to see if the ski is running on both spark plugs, mine had one defective plug messing it all up (by the way, the defective plug was brand new)....

hey.. yeah i had made sure i had good spark along with new plugs... and even out of water i had the same rpms so that rules out that problem.. i still have no clue whats causing it.

1999 gsx

I bought a 1999 gsx for my son and he has a problem with it starting after riding it for an hour or so. He will turn it off and it will not start. Take it out of the water and let it sit over night and it will start right up. Can anyone help with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok. The last two suggestions I can offer are to clean the rave valves and replace the o-rings inside them and fully break down the carbs and clean/rebuild them. It took me almost three months to work all the bugs out of my gsx-l and I know how fustrating it can be. Let me know how it goes and I'll give any advice I can. Good luck
