99 challenger

99 1800 challenger has trouble at low idle.have changed plugs still wants to die . talked to dealer he suggested running some stable through system. talked to him about carb rebuild may be looking at $800 to do all four.he showed me the kit pointing out the small filter that comes with it.i think the kits were about $65. I'm a mechanic but not an engine mechanic. wondering if this is somthing i could do myself? any suggestions?

yeah, you can do yourself. Remove the airbox assy, and go from there. Really, it aint that bad, think the worst part, is your ribs will thank you later.

seadooya,do understand the rib thing. have the tools, have the guts, any thing you can tell me to look out for?

A year ago Snipe had a good post with pictures of the 787 carbs, look here in the repair section, the main thing is going slow in a cookie sheet because one of the small screws from a carb will never be found in the hull, take them off to a picnic table or something.
