99 challenger 1800 steering cable replacement question

I have an 1999 challenger with a broken steering cable. I was thinking about replacing the cable myself but have some questions. I guess first is this something i should be taking to the dealer to fix? If not, how do i remove and the replace the cable. there does not appear to be any access panels in the boat to get to the cable. So once it is disconnected at bothends, then what? can anyone send me some tips or directions, or photos? I would really appreciate your help...

My tip would be to join the forum as a premium member, and down load the manual.

Just an FYI... your access will be in the engine compartment, and the hood over the steering wheel.
