99 Challenger 1800 - Carb Issue?

HELP,

I have no idea where to start - I have cleaned and rebuilt both engine carbs. One side works great, the other side I have an issue. For some reason when I give it some throttle, the engine wants to die, but will idel all day long. Funny thing is - when I put it in forward or reverse, the engine rpm'S go up like I am pushing the throttle. I am testing out of water, but I would like to get this resolved before the weekend. Any one no what the problem may be or ever experience the same thing?

What I can tell you is boat on trailer idle is 3000. You need to set idle in the water.
Boat has limiter on the trailer. When you put it in F/N you deactivate limiter.

With that are sure you set other carb to factory? Cleaned that one first/second. Checked cable adjustments?

With the fuel lines are they grey? read DrHondas thread why tempo lines suck. Replace with automotive type fuel hose. They are black

Carbs are all adjusted the same. I had to replace one of the throttle cables, but I think I have it where it is suppose to be becasue it idles fine. All I know is that when you put it in gear, it wants to take off on one engine. What is the rev limiter set at in idle? Maybe I am at it at 3500, and there is an adjustment that is off.

Once in the water under a load it should be ~1500.
You really don't want to put it F/N to increase rpm's. Its bad to run for long period than 3-5 mins on the hose b/c something gets hot.
I think it's the carbon seals iirc.

Just get to ramp deep enough to see it it starts and idles.
Do adjustments and check for leaks before unloading from trailer just it case.
Go on a slow day so you have ramp for yourself.

You also have rave valves. Make sure you check them. Theres a thread where it discusses different jetting and newer sloted rave valves.
