98 xp

hi there....I recently acquired a 98 xp, had one years ago.....this one just chirps when I hit the start button. any idea what might have it locked out.....disconnected wire from temp.sensor and oil reservoir...no luck...fuse on solenoid good ..battery good...????? any help appreciated thanks

Welcome to the forum. When you say "chirps", do you mean 2 beeps? That would mean the electrics are in order. Does the motor spin if you pull the plugs and try turning the PTO? Post any follow ups to this in the 2-stroke PWC section of the forum.
