98 xp missing/skipping 3500-5000 Rpm.

Got the ski on the water the yesterday and it had a miss or skip 1 or 2 every second or so. I'm guessing it needs a carb clean/rebuild but I also have no clue to what it could be.
Put new plugs in it and it ran better but I beleve it's running rich as well. Here is a pic of the plug

Plugs look ok. Dirty carbs and fuel system will destroy an engine.

Yeah ordered a carb rebuild kit gonna put it in this week. And yes only the genuine kit was ordered.

Make sure you get new carb base Gaskets. I also suggest replacing the strainer and selector valve also.

Fuel selector valve like turning the gas on and off? And is the strainer in the carbs? Sorry might be dumb questions

Yes, I believe he was referring to the fuel cutoff/reserve valve. The strainer he was speaking of is the one in the factory water separator filter. It has a white plastic housing in line after the fuel cutoff valve. Make sure you do not loose the o-ring or order a replacement when you order the new strainer.
