98 xp limited beeping

I have a 98 xp limited that after you start it there is a very annoying solid 3 0r 4 second beep and it goes off every little bit.
Does anybody know what to do.

The rectifier may be going out. The electonics are getting fed AC instead of DC current. Verify the voltage, then start and rev up to 5500 rpm then recheck at that rpm. If over 15VDC the Rectifier is bad.
