Hi everyone/anyone? I am new to the thread thing so here goes. I bought 2 seadoo's on a tandum trailer about 2 months ago. One runs like a top (a 97' 787cc GTX) and I have had nothing but problems with the 98' 951cc GTX Limited.
First I replaced the stator in it after about an hour of riding it, then the starter pooched. Now all of a sudden I noticed when I start it up and drive I ca nonly get about 5800 RPM's out of it compared to the original approx 7000 and thus it effects my top speed. I also noticed that the longer Irun it the more the RPM's flucuate between 5200 and 5800.
Does anyone have any idea what might be happening here? I am sinking money into this thing and I am on the brink of selling it.

check the voltage, start engine and rev too 5500 and recheck. If over 15vdc the
Rectifier is bad.

I can not see it having anything to do with the rectifier. That is linked to the charging system, this is linked to what seems to be a sensor, fuel or possible filter issue? Typically the unit runs around 7200 RPM's and 60 miles per hour. Now I can only get 5800 RPM and about 40 miles per hour.
Why would you think it is the rectifier? In this unit the rectifier is internal to the MPEM
