my 98 gti is not running right. after looking at the posts here and the jetski I see I still have the dreaded grey fuel lines. I need to winterize it now. Is it ok to fog the engine and replace the grey fuel lines in the spring? Or do I need to change them before I winterize?
Thanks
Mike

As long as you are not running the machine, having the gray fuel lines in there for the winter will have no negative effect whatsoever.

Assuming the engine is running fine right now, you are ok to winterize it with the gray fuel lines and replace them in the spring. If it is not running ok, you may not be able to fog it properly.

In addition to just replacing the fuel lines, you need to thouroughly clean the entire fuel system (lines/carbs/fuel selector valve/filters). You need to clean out all the deterioated gunk that the fuel lines so kindly provided your fuel delivery system.

If you leave gas in the lines during the winter, they will continue to deterioate during the winter and running your machine in the spring without replacing the lines and cleaning the fuel system could potentially be very bad for your engine. Just a warning! Make sure you DO change them in the spring before riding next season.

Ok, so I just re-read your post and see that you are NOT running well. As long as you are confident that your got your fogging oil into the engine, you should still be good. You may want to take off your airbox so you can spray directly into the carbs just to be sure you are getting that fogging oil in there.

When you spray you will need to press the throttle a bit because the fogging oil will kill the engine if it is just at an idle (at least mine does). You are only going to need the engine to run for about 10 seconds after spraying the fogging oil into each cylinder, then shut it down. I do a quick blast of the oil right before I shut it down too.

apaysys, just a word of advice, when you change te grey fuel lines, do 1 at a time so you don't lose track of which hose goes where.
