98 gsx Ltd No Start Please Help!!!!!!!

where do i begin i have a 98 gsx ltd all was working fine decieded to take it out and had it running and it just shut down no alarms no overheat nothing... was unable to restart when i pulled the safty switch off and put it back on no beeps at all tested the dess accoridnig to the manual and it tested prefect, i also checked fuses those were ok also, i moved to the start/stop switch and did a resistance test accoriding to service manual, yellow/red to ground is supposed to read OFL (normally open) when i pressed the button its supposed to read 0ohms but it was reading OFL my question is could a bad start/stop switch cause the ski to shut down and not start back, or could the dess not reconize my key? or both?

I believe the start/stop button is just a normally open switch that is closed when you press on it. (it could be the inverse of that too, but it's easily tested by reading the resistance across the wires of the switch when you press on the button). What is your voltage at the MPEM fuses before you put the key on? What about after the key is on? What about when you hit the start button? How do these voltages compare to your battery voltage?
