Hey guys, both my xp's will not read fuel on gauges. And the speedometer does not work on the 98, are there problems with the electrical or what? But both VTS gauges work just fine though? I have great mechanical skills and can fix just about anything, but without a wiring diagram I will be looking for a needle in a haystack. The beeper will not work on the 98 as well, just need to know if you have had similar issues and what was done to fix it. Thanks for your input it is greatly appreciated.

Usually the problem with the fuel gauge is the fuel float, there is also a fix for the sending unit in the fuel baffle but in my experience it's always been the float.

The speedo problem is most likely the speedo pickup also check for missing paddle wheel.

The beeper is probably just gone bad, it's in the handlebar cover, you can get a replacement for $9.00 at Radio Shack, sorry I don't know the part number, just take the old one with you.

Thank you for the info. Does the float need to be taken out or is it just stuck on empty, can it just be moved around a little or does it need to come out and cleaned.
The paddle wheel is in place for the speedometer and spins freely, does the pick up have a adjustment to it or could it be bad?
I will check the beeper with some leads to the battery to see if its bad or not and pick one up at radio shack.

i had my fuel gauge stop working and it ended up to be that the magnet that is in the baffle and the whole float came apart inside my gas tank, had to drain the tank and put the baffle back together.try yanking the baffle out and see if its all there

One of the first items we came here for was an inoperable fuel gauge. Our son found a thread that detailed check and repair. Potential problems:

1) bad gauge - cross the wires and see if the gauge moves.
2) stuck float - remove baffle from tank and see if it moves up and down the baffle/chamber.
3) float full of fuel - replace.
4) blown fuse in baffle - cut baffle open and repair.

Our problem was item 4. Gauge works! Thanks Seadoo Forum!!!
