97xp water collection

First time owning a jet ski so please excuse my ignorance
I had my--new to me--1997 xp out for the first time
Fixed the fuel gauge and the beeper thanks to the forum
Now is there suppose to be water collecting where your feet go, (close to the steering wheel, not the back of the ski)
or is there a drain that is clogged that I am missing?

um,,i have a 98 xp,basically same hull,,if ur talkin about water that is where your feet are while u ride,sitting down,thats normal,mine does it and so do all of the skis ive ridden,,which isnt really that many

does the water stay there when you are done riding?
i stopped about 8hrs ago and there is still water.

If you are talking about in the foot wells, the water will stay there unless you elevate the tongue of your trailer. If it is sitting in the water, yes the water will stay there. It should run out the back as you run the ski at any speed above idle.
