Makes sense why mine is striped to hell on that part. Finally got the Magneto Flywheel off. (The cylinder part)
Only way I think I’m getting that off is finding long screws that will fit there. Odds are I’m replacing the fly wheel anyway. Don’t care if I strip it at this point. Have to replace the whole botttem end most likely.

I did this twice, second time I ended up getting the tool @mikidymac is speaking of. I had a steering wheel puller before that I was able modify and use some small MM bolts. It worked the first time, the second time it snapped a bolt and nearly injured me. Get the tool, it'll come right off....safely.
That's not good at all. By pulling on the outer part of the flywheel with that puller you are going to warp and ruin it but at this point it looks like you have nothing to lose.
I would put some pressure on it with that puller then some heat on the center to expand it and see if it will pop, maybe a quick smack with a hammer.
UPDATE. I have tried everything, i even put the whole case in the oven to try and expand the metal. lol
I've given up. i was only trying to salvage the Housing but couldn't get the flywheel off.
All new parts are on the way and when i put the whole thing together I'll link a Youtube video of all the work and struggles i went through to try and save 50$ lol
I've used both tools, Broke the proper tool after the first few times using it. It would just strip itself or the flywheel so easily.
Now all I use is a good quality harmonic ballencer puller and some high grade long bolts.
I only remove 3 of the 6 bolts and apply as much pressure as I can on the tool and then a few taps on the bold with a hammer and it usually comes right off. ( leave the nut partially threaded on the crank)
If that doesn't work and you don't care about the crank or crank seals then a little heat can help just around the flywheel where it meets the crank. tighten it down and hit the bolt with a hammer and it pops off easily. just takes some time to get the heat where it needs to be. I only use a small propane torch.

Maybe the metal they made the pullers out of 20 years ago was much better.

Hi, all new to the site. I know not everyone has a welder and patience but I made one years ago. It’s pulled many flywheels. With holes a little larger than the bolts needed and washers necessary you can do a lot for yourself. The plate is 3/16” and the center bolt is 3/4. Mark the center hole and scribe three lines 120 degrees apart before drilling that center hole. That way in the future when you want to use it for another flywheel with larger diameter bolt pattern those triangulated lines are already there to drill a new set of holes. Last year rebuilding a sled motor I had to use a little heat because there was so much loctite on it from original build. I’ve built a couple of these pullers for friends.
