97 XP 2 beeps then 4 beeps

Hi, I get 2 beeps then 4 beeps. This ski has the grey electrical box, 97 shop manual shows it having the newer style MPEM so I am going by the 96 shop manual. It means that the MPEM is not connecting to the DC-CDI. Strange thing is is that I got it to start with one of the ground wires disconnected on the ignition coil (not intentional) put it back on and no spark, then the ski started doing the 4 beeps. Any ideas on what's going on here?

Having the same issue with my 96 gtx. It’s intermittent will run all day shut it off and bam! 2 beeps then 4. I’m leaning toward it being the relay in the base of the front electrical box. If I tap it it will go back to normal for a while. I’m trying to figure out if both pieces in the box are considered the mpem or if I can switch out the bottom piece. I’ll follow this post as well. Yeah it's very strange, tested it last night and it fired up like normal, from other threads it seems like it could be the relay.
