I have seen the water come out the bleed holes when I run the beast on the hose, but didn't see any at idle yesterday on the water. I double checked the exhausts and motors - both were very cool.
I understand that I may have to increase the throttle to see any flow from the bleed holes. Can anyone tell me what kind of rpms are required on your boats with 717s to see the water flow?
TIA

The water should be coming out at an idle too. Check your cooling lines to be sure water is flowing. The only reason it spurts is to tell you it is cooling the engine. Not squirting water is telling you it isn't cooling properly.

Yeah - that is what I thought, but the owners manual does say that you may have to "slightly increase the engine speed to see the water flowing out".
I would hate to have something simple be wrong and overheat the motors. I know it has the alarm, but I don't even want to get them close to 205 deg F.
I'll check it out.

Just follow the cooling lines and remove them to check for blockage. You might want to use a small wire to push into the brass elbows too If you remove any fittings keep track of where they came from. They need to be in specific places for correct water flow.
