97 seadoo xp issues

i have a 97 xp that has been running great rans it for few hours yesturday with n problems. Launch it this morning and rode it for bout 2.5 hours and while i was riding speed droped to 10 to 15 mph. engine sounds like its running great sounds like i have a pump issue i checked the intake grate thinking i might have sucked something up in it but didnt see anything like i said motor revs up great but only goes bout 10 mph but sounds like its trying any1 have any suggestions.

Revving and not going? sounds like it spit the wear ring.

u can come to complete stop and then take off and it only gets up to max 15 mph but u can still rev the motor higher

I pull mine and my buddie puts one in, new bearings, oil ect. $100. I put it back.

k i had a seadoo dealer put a wear ring and an impeller on my pump and i installed the pump back in just as i took it out. BUT before i took the pump off i thought when i cranked it out of the water i couldve swore the impeller would turn while it was idleing out of the water cause after i put the new pump on i cranked it up just to make sure everything was back on properly and the impeller isnt turning, the driveline is all the way in and also all the way in the impeller and its not turning. My question is is it suppose to be turning when its craked up out of the water if so what might i need to check?

Its a direct drive propulsion. In neutral it merely directs the thrust downward.
Meaning yes, the prop rotates the same rpm as the engine. Bills86e

You need to re-pull and see whats missing or if its dealer techs fault. Go from there.

i didnt take the whole ski to them i just took them the pump so the drive line should still turn as it did before

ok i feel stupid but i fixed it dang driveline came loose from back of motor somehow lol thanks every1 for the help

well even with the stock impeller and a messed up wearing it would still run 45 to 50 at half throttle so hoping the new wear ring and new impeller will do awesome
