97 gtx wont turn over...just clicks

when I push the start button the electrical box just clicks..it will not jump off the soleoid eiher... Help?? Thanks ! "E"

First thing is first, check that your battery is good, then check the ground at the block/starter and check the hot connection at the starter as well, it sounds like just a bad connection anything loose or corroided can cause that, if all wiring is good and jumping the sol does not work then jump directly to the starter if still the same then pull the starter and see if the engine turns by hand, if it does then replace the starter!

He said he had a 97 GTX so that would be the 787 engine, so would be on the lower end of the motor same side as carbs and up by the stator cover.

Incorrect being a 97 it could have the white 951, he also asked exactly which you did not give as they all have the starter there for that year. Please before you bash another member please answer with correct info.

97 has only a 787, but the idea is the same, that area is hard to check the tightness so nobody does anything till it is dead - behave already or you have to go to your room without cake.
