97 GTX taking on water from the driveshaft protection boot

My 97 gtx has been taking on quite a bit of water the past couple times out on the lake. I took the seat off and watched where I saw it coming in and it was at the protection boot over the driveshaft. It’s severely cracked and I don’t know how to take it off and replace it with a new one. I’m trying some flex seal to see if I can get that to work first. Anyone know the technique for replacement if I can’t get the flex seal to work?

it seems that you don't have rear clamp on that boot, that will make it leak for sure, so put the appropriate sized clamp on there,,,the flex seal may work, i don't know, I don't think any one on here uses it. I use permatex ultra black silicone, the sealer that I use on the earlier jet pumps, there's a lot of pressure there. If you put the ultra black on there, give it a day to fully cure.

If that does not work, then, you will have to remove the shaft. After that you can remove the old bellow and install a new one.

I took the clamps all the way off to enable inspection of the whole boot

Oops, dumb me, but of course! Dumb point, make sure to rotate that bellow, for cracks from the bottom.
