I have a 97 GTX with about 22 hours on the new engine. Took it out this weekend, ran fine Saturday till late in the day. You would be riding and then it would just die. No sputter, no warning. To get it running I had to take the key off and reconnect sometimes a few times. It would finally get the two beeps and would start. Then run a few seconds to minutes and die again. The guage said 12 volt low.

So that night I charged the battery and even used another key and it did the same thing again. It will run fine for a few minutes then die. Once you get it started, it sometimes will run for a while and other times you would have to start it run a few seconds and it would die again until finally it would stay running.

Please Help! My wife is ready to set this thing out on the curb!

Treid that already too. Thanks for the suggestion. I even held the key on the post while riding and it still shut down.

I have see this problem lots of times. If the post is clean, and the battery is fully charged and doesn't have a bad cell or 2, you need to replace the post.

The battery is breand new and checks out good with the volt meter. What about any other locations for possible bad connections? i read a post earlier similar to what mine is doing and it was a connection in the black box next to the battery.

A volt meter will show 12 volts but if you load test the battery it might not have enough amps. If you in doubt have it load tested at like Auto Zone for free. I can only suggest things to check as I'm not there looking at the seadoo.
Look everywhere for a loose wire or something shorted...I still think it might be a bad post. If the post looses communication with the lanyard dess cap, the seadoo will just shut off. It thinks you pulled the lanyard off.

97 GTX that dies

i have a 97GTX that does the same thing it might run for days with no problem then die i have replaced the post checked all the wiring but it still dies i have figured out when it does it it is a total loss of electrical power the guages all reset the next thing i will do is raplace the battery but it hasnt died for a long time (20 hours) of riding if not the battery i think it must be the computer in the fornt box
