I heard that my gauges are 97-only. Is that true? I'm talking about the info gauge specifically but curious about the others as well.

Thanks.

Your ski has
info gauge
Tachometer
Speedometer

Very nice, but who needs them to have fun? More $hit to fix & worry about, like the DESS system. IMO

You will find lots of these for sale in the classified section. Sorry, I know that don't answer your Q tho bro. Use the search function box or the bottom left of this screen for similarity's.

Wouldn't it not tell you if it's overheating or anything if the info gauge doesn't work? That was my concern. I also go on long rides so gas gauge, clock, etc are nice to have.

My speedo doesn't work but I gave up on that, it's far from being important. Tach is fairly important IMO.

mines a 96 and mine is a non dess system, but im pretty sure that with or without the info gauges, you will still hear your buzzer go off if it overheats. i tested mine by pulling the plug off the top of the head, and grounding it to the spark plug ground...
i beleive to test it, you either have to have the lanyard in, or the lanyard in and running..i forgot what i did, not sure...im sure someone else will chime in on this, in the meantime im gonna look back in my posts to see if i had it running or not

ok, just found my post, named "busted out buzzer"...turns out, bill was the one who answered me...so yes, engine running, pull it off and ground it..mine was long enough to ground it to the plug post, which it slid perfectly over, but you can ground it to like an unpainted headbolt or something...
