97 gtx cutting out

i went to the lake this weekend and the ski would run good for a while(about 30min or more)then it starts cutting in and out,if you go full throttle it goes to 6,000 and then drops about 1000 and then goes back and forth 6000 5000 6000 5000 its like it is bumping on a rev limiter, any help would be great,it starting to drive me nuts.this has been going on the two last trips to the lake

It could be that it needs to have it's carbs cleaned. Have you changed the spark plugs lately? I would do both.

clean the raves, also

I cleaned the raves and when to put them back together and noticed the springs under the black caps are diffrent size in thickness and dif. strength,is this normal and if so the stronger spring in front or back?
