97 GTX 2 problems

Hi everyone, 97 GTX, complete rebuilt and carbs engine last season about 100 hours on it.

1. Machine cuts out completely like pulling lanyard off, restarts right up have to put lanyard on off maybe a couple of times ,beeps twice sometimes none but starts.

2. Cruising about half throttle 4000 rpm then press a little more jumps to 7000 rpm takes a little to get up to speed, feels like sea weed caught up in grate. Bent impeller??

Well took reverse gate off and found like half a head of lettuce in there lol sea weed. Hoping that's it. Thanks

For the cutting out we had the same problem on a friends 97' XP last year. It was the DESS post going bad.

How is the wear ring?

Well after pulled sea lettuce out was better but not 100 percent. Pulled pump ring was shot huge pieces missing. New ring plenary of power now

Glad you got it. I was gonna say dess post too, mine had to be replaced a couple years ago on my gtx.
