At the beginning of the summer I took my 97 gts to the lake after putting a new starter, solenoid, and battery in to get it running. 5 minutes out from the ramp it just quit as if the safety lanyard had fell off but it didn’t. Press the start button nothing happens. Fuses are not blown and battery was fine. I’m thinking it might be the mpem, I got the shop manual and am going to test that. Is it likely that it is the mpem? What else could it be and how would I go about diagnosing it? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I would check the power at the battery side of the solenoid where the small wire is that goes to the fuse. Pull the fuse out and check there is power there with a tester.

When testing the mpem, do all wires have to be disconnected or could I just disconnect the ones I am testing so I don’t forget where all the wires go as long as the battery isn’t connected?
