97 gsx 800 no spark hi temp

I have a 97 gsx 800. My friend was riding it yesturday and the ski just shut off, no spark. When I got it back to shore I had no beeps but I still have power to gauges and I can get a high temp warning on the lcd screen. The beeper never worked right. I let the ski sit over night and the hight temp warning light is still on. Will this cause the ski to have no spark?

I went to radio shack and bought a cheap siren and I have the beeps. I get the correct 2 beeps when I plug in the tether cord the ski will turn over but no spark. I take off the tether and hit the start button a couple of times and I get "high temp" also sometimes i get low 12volt but not all the time...Thanks inadvance for any help.
