hi,
i pulled both of the rave valves and only one valve had a spring in the top of it. its the spring that is under the red plastic top, its looks like its 1/2" in diameter by 2 1/2" long. should there be one spring on each rave valve? if so were would be best place to get another spring? thanks alan

Yes, they should each have a spring. Best place to get one would be your local SeaDoo dealer or click the "Parts" link at the top of this page and order what you need. While you are at it, inspect all the other Rave components. You might need new gaskets, O-rings, or diagphrams. If the O-Rings are hard, you need to get new ones.

thanks, i have only taken it out one time since i bought it and it was sluggesh and then would only idle, it would die when i throttle it up. do you think the missing spring would would have anything to do with it?

I'm not real familar with the Challenger, but I think it has the same 787 Rotax. My RAVEs were pretty gunked up before I cleaned them and they cleaned up nicely. Do you still have the gray fuel lines? If so, that is probably a big part of your problem. There are lots of posts about how to replace the fuel lines and clean or replace the fuel selector valve if you haven't done that yet. The carb filters will especially need cleaned.

the fuel lines have been changed but not sure about the fuel selector or the filters. i will check them asap. i think the gas was old but just guessing.
