Hi guy, i just bough my first ski two week ago and so far has been a disappointment, it ran great out of water but when i put it in the lake for about 30 sec,it died and the No.2 cylinder is fill with water, took the plug out and crank to get all the water out and, same problem again. the previous owner said he rebuilded the top end and it does look like all the gaskets are new, so where can this water come from and how do i fix this? Also, does anybody have some pic. or diagram of the hose routing on the head? If this ran incorrectly, could it get water in the cylinder? the little round black thing with red in the midle that sit on top of the muffler(pop off valve?) is kidda lose, does this affect anything? my doo is a 96 xp 787. Thanks for all your help

Red is water regulator for high speed tuning the exhaust.
My guess the OP failed to seal the jugs when he did top end. Pull them NOW, and
spray fogging oil on the crank jounals or it will rust! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in 24 hrs the
water on crank can ruin it! Bill

hi bills, sorry for being so cluelesss but what do you mean by "seal the jugs" and "Pull" what? I have been starting and runing this doo every 8 hrs or so for about 30s second, is this enough to keep the crank lube?

i replaced the head o-ring and gasket but still the same problem, it only have water in the rear cylinder, compression on rear is 90 and front only 60

regardless of the water issue... it's not going to run in the water with the compression that low. Time for a rebuild.
