96 XP VTS buttons

Guys, i am trying to change the VTS buttons on my XP but the plug wont fit through the axle of the steering wheel. How do i take the cable leads out of the plug without f*cking them up?

Buy a pin tool. Then you can take the plug apart, and not mess it up. (just remember what pin goes in which hole)
